Over the summer we were lucky to have two brilliant interns join our team. Jacob and Cole contributed enormously to our mission to help first time homebuyers and leave a legacy of great output that will make a huge difference to helping people in their journey to homeownership.
Let me introduce you to the pair and then hear from them about their time with Ownify…
Jacob is a sophomore computer science major currently studying at Tufts University in Massachusetts.
Cole is senior computer science major at Carleton College in Minnesota.
Cole and Jacob’s main project this summer was to create a home value search tool that helps Ownify estimate property costs.
They also had opportunity to expand on their data analysis skills – Jacob helped create the Ownify First Time Homebuyer Affordability Index (launching soon!), while Cole dove into our backend databases.
They helped connect us with our agents through accredited agent email campaigns, and helped connect prospective homebuyers to useful Ownify resources through social media integrations.
They also created exciting new tools to help first-time homebuyers looking to buy with Ownify including a student debt calculator, down payment calculator, monthly payment and underwriting calculator.
Jacob also got to flex his writing skills as he helped with the creation of a few blog posts. Meanwhile, Cole trained and launched our AI bot, Fin, that you can view in the bottom right corner of each webpage.
Cole: “I am incredibly grateful for the enriching experience I have gained through my internship at Ownify this summer. Ownify has allowed me to build on my computer science knowledge and learn more about working at a start-up.”
Jacob: “I had an amazing summer learning under the passionate, smart and kind people at Ownify. My internship allowed me to dive deeper in my interest in computer science and exposed me to the unique, but exciting, virtual work environment.”
We certainly enjoyed having both of these two fantastic people as part of our team and wish them lots of success in their future endeavors!
